Examples of Effective Practices in ESEA Consolidated Programs

Compiled by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) through on-site and telephone reviews of district ESEA Consolidated Programs.

Background

DPI has oversight and monitoring responsibilities to review district compliance within the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) consolidated programs. Oversight and monitoring includes an extensive review and approval process for all ESEA Consolidated Applications submitted by school districts/consortia. In addition, this process includes a combination of on-site and telephone reviews, conducted each year in randomly selected districts.

Monitoring visits cover broad or consolidated requirements— that is, common requirements across all Titles—as well as requirements specific to individual Title programs. The purpose of this web page is to share with you "effective practices" collected from districts through their on-site review. It is anticipated that this page, as it continues to grow, will become a very useful resource to districts as they implement the numerous program requirements within ESEA consolidated programs.

Effective practices are organized by consolidated requirements and individual program requirements. To view best practices, including a brief description and district contact information, select from the following categories:
