While many of the provisions within the Act have an effective date of October 1, 2010 - specific guidelines will be forthcoming from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in the next several months. Thus, we will provide ample notice and direction, prior to requiring program compliance. Updated policy for all Child Nutrition Programs can be found on USDA's website. This webpage will also be updated frequently and will provide information and guidance as it becomes available.

For more information on the 2010 Child Nutrition Reauthorization for specific programs:

• School Nutrition Programs - Schools/districts participating in federally subsidized child nutrition programs (e.g., National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Special Milk program, etc.) are required to modify certain operating and administrative procedures, as a result of new federal regulations in Child Nutrition Reauthorization. The included topics have received updated guidance from the USDA and must be implemented by the identified effective dates.
