Health Science Education
| Health Science Education (HSE) prepares students for careers related to medicine, nursing, health science, and allied health programs. Students preparing for health careers or for teaching careers in health occupations can gain valuable career information and network with other professionals by participating in the HSE program. This program provides students technical skills, health care competencies, and opportunities to obtain the knowledge necessary to satisfy the requirements for entry-level health care jobs. HSE is dedicated to educating today's students for tomorrow's health care community.

What's New in Health Science Education
|
The Coursework Completion System (CWCS) implemented this past year collects data specific to all courses completed by all students, grades K3-12. This new data collection facilitates the standardization of student coursework information across the state, providing data necessary to answer important questions at the local and state levels, and enable Wisconsin to meet federal requirements.
Health Science courses are listed under one numeric specific file for completion into the CWCS system. Health Science teachers can validate the enrollment figures of students enrolled in health science courses alphabetically by district.
Health science teachers are asked to look at their district specific data for the accuracy of the student enrollment.
Questions about Health Science enrollments can be addressed to:

Consider starting a HOSA chapter if you have not done so. Find affiliation information by visiting Wisconsin HOSAs website at www.dpi.wi.gov/hosa/index.html or National HOSAs website at www.hosa.org. Contact state advisor Janice Atkinson or a state officer for more information.
