Records Management

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction provides guidance to school districts and public libraries on the management of public records. Further, members of the public are able to inspect or obtain copies of most public records maintained by the Department of Public Instruction with the exception of certain types of school records which are exempted under Wisconsin state law.
