Event Description
Designed primarily for experience-based licensed teachers, new teachers, and postsecondary students entering the profession, this free two-day summer institute features dynamic, hands-on professional development (PD) sessions in Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS). Breakout sessions will address these topics:
- Active Learning Strategies
- Culinary Arts
- Early Childhood Education
- Personal Financial Literacy
- FCCLA
- RealityWorks Simulators
- Curriculum Kits
- Standards
- Career Pathways
Additional opportunities to practice and learn about lab management in the textiles and culinary arts spaces will also be available. Professionals seeking PD in FCS are also welcome.
Costs: FREE! No substitute pay, no meal costs, and no registration fees! Attendees will only be responsible for mileage and lodging.
