Explore America 250 Resources

Tuesday, February 17, 2026

This year, we are celebrating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This historic milestone offers a meaningful opportunity for educators to explore our nation’s history, ideals, and ongoing story with students in thoughtful, engaging ways.

To support this work, the DPI has launched a dedicated America 250 webpage featuring classroom-ready resources, lesson ideas, and learning opportunities. This resource highlights a wide range of materials, gathered from trusted partners, and intended to be flexible and adaptable so that educators can select what best aligns with their local curriculum and instructional policies.

The website also includes information about upcoming professional learning opportunities, including the America at 250 Educator Summit and the America 250 Teacher Workshop: The Economic Thought of the Founders.

We invite you to explore the website and join educators across the state in helping students engage in learning about our nation’s history, founding ideals, and evolving democracy.
