As part of its ongoing commitment to strong academic and career planning for students across the state, the Department of Public Instruction has selected Xello as the statewide college and career readiness platform. The selection followed a competitive, stakeholder-driven process that included feedback from more than 800 educators, counselors, and administrators representing over 200 school districts across Wisconsin.
Xello is an engaging, K-12 college and career readiness software, designed to help students build self-knowledge, explore career paths, and create actionable future plans. The platform offers interactive, personalized experiences, including assessments, career profiles, and academic planning to assist with postsecondary goals and workforce readiness.
The new five-year contract begins July 1, 2026 and continues a partnership with a platform many schools are already familiar with, while also bringing some enhancements. Users will find expanded work-based learning tools that easily connect schools and employers, high school career pathway profiles that help students explore related careers, enhanced career cluster profiles, and Wisconsin-based support staff.
Together, these tools support the DPI’s mission to ensure every student has what they need to make informed decisions about postsecondary education, training, careers, and life after high school.
