Keep Learning and Growing in 2025!

Daily life as a library media specialist brings opportunities for joy, difficult challenges, and the many rewards of bringing valuable library experiences to students. Are you looking for somewhere to share your professional stories and learn with colleagues around Wisconsin? Consider some of these favorites:

  • WI DPI School Libraries Google Spaces Community: This is an interactive platform highlighting upcoming events, such as Virtual Networking Meetings, and providing a forum for asking questions and sharing ideas with other school librarians throughout Wisconsin. With almost 350 members, there is always a conversation happening. If you are not currently a member, send an email to monica.treptow@dpi.wi.gov for an invitation.

  • Library Planning Webinar Series: Although we do not have official numbers, districts reporting the implementation of library plans in 2024 is near 60%, which is practically double the 2023 count. Using the WISEadmin Portal for data collection has energized districts to move forward with this work. This spring we will offer another series of Library Planning Webinars with dates in February, March, and April. If you are doing your first plan and need guidance, or if you are looking for some new ideas for your next iteration, consider registering for this well reviewed series. This Library Planning Webinar Series flier contains additional information and a link to sign up.

  • WEMTA Conference: Ignite and Inspire - Impacting Learning Together: The annual Wisconsin Educational Media and Technology Conference will be March 9-11, 2025, in Brookfield, Wisconsin. This year’s event will be packed with great keynotes and valuable sessions. There will also be an opportunity to apply for scholarships to assist with financial barriers to attendance.
