Public School Enrollment by Grade and Ethnicity, 1997-98 and 1998-99

Enrollments for 1997-98 and 1998-99 school years were reported on the PI-1290 Enrollment report as part of the fall staff and enrollment report data collection. Enrollments were collected as of the third Friday in September.

For the 1998-99 school year:

• total state public school enrollment is 879,535
• total minority enrollment was 159,262, or 18.11% of the total public school enrollment

For the 1997-98 school year:

• total state public school enrollment is 881,720
• total minority enrollment was 156,684, or 17.77% of the total public school enrollment.
