District Library Plan Link
District Library Plan Link: District Library Plan
District Library Plan Link data element refers to the URL for the webpage that displays a school/district District Library Plan.
This link needs to be entered in a text field in WISEadmin Portal. The URL entered into the text field must begin with "https://".
The District Library Plan is referenced in Wisconsin Administrative Code PI8.01(2)(h). For current library planning resources, visit the DPI Future Ready Libraries webpage, paying special attention to the Library Planning Infographic.
District Library Plan data elements are collected within the WISEadmin Portal as of the 2023-24 school year. Updates for the last modified and last submitted version of the District Library Plan are marked with an auto-generated date/time stamp.
Uses:
Well-developed long-range district library plans, implemented with fidelity by licensed library media specialists, are effective tools for:
- increasing student achievement,
- providing equitable resources for all students, and
- making library programs key collaborative elements of district learning initiatives.
FAQs, Details, and Points to Note
- The URL entered into the text field MUST BEGIN with the text: HTTPS://
- If it does not, a validation message appears on the screen: "Please enter District Library Plan link."
- What if the district changes the URL to the library plan?
- Links to library plans should not change during the duration of the plan. If a district decides to revise the library plan prior to the end of its timeline, a new approval process needs to occur and a new submission to the DPI is required. Plans that are marked as approved by the DPI should not be altered or changed.
- When plans expire, they become inactive. The records remain in the WISEadmin Portal. If a district decides to delete or remove the plan, and the URL is not maintained, it is highly recommended that the district keep an archived copy of the plan.
