2024 LSTA Grant Guidelines Now Available

Wednesday, May 1, 2024

IMLS logoThe Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) released the final version of the Library Services and Technology Act Institute of Museum and Library Services (LSTA) Grant Information and Guidelines 2024. All Wisconsin regional public library systems are eligible to apply.

The LSTA Grants to States program is administered at the federal level by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). IMLS is the primary source of federal support for the nationʼs libraries and museums supporting statewide initiatives and services. The DPI manages and distributes the federal funding as the State Library Administrative Agency for Wisconsin.

The categories for this yearʼs LSTA Grants support goals established in the LSTA Five-Year Plan 2023-2027 and are based on the federal LSTA priorities. This year, the DPI is providing library systems with grant funding for Core System Support. The Public Library System Redesign process showed systems serving sparse and rural populations experience funding challenges to provide essential system services to their member libraries; this grant category aims to address the disparity. Other notable grant categories for 2024 include the continuation and expansion of the Teen Inclusive Internship Pilot Program and a continued commitment to providing Professional Learning funds to reduce barriers for librarians to improve their skills to meet the changing needs of our communities.

The guidelines, with additional Library Services and Technology Act Grant information, are available on the DPI LSTA web page. Please contact LSTAgrants@dpi.wi.gov with any questions.
