WISEdata Portal: Modify Course Titles and Descriptions

When the Roster: Courses export was downloaded as an .xls file, a special character was appearing in the Excel file (—) in places where a long dash (—) was typed into a course title or description (e.g., Health Care Sciences—School-based Enterprise was displaying as Health Care Sciences — School-based Enterprise).

The file type was adjusted, and the export now reads legibly.

WISEdata Portal: Alerts Screen Ack/Unack Buttons

The ‘Acknowledge’/’Unacknowledge’ buttons on the WISEdata Portal Alerts screen were refreshing the screen content, but the buttons were not switching status once clicked. This bug has been fixed, and the buttons are correctly switching status once clicked to align with screen content.

WISEdata Portal: Bug Fixes to New CTE Exports

The Career Connected High School (CCHS) export and the College and Career Ready (CCR) export in WISEdata Portal were not visible when the 2023-24 school year was selected in WISEdata Portal. They are now visible for the 2023-24 school year and onwards.

WISEid/WISEstaff Updates

WISEid: User Guide updates

The Advanced Search Feature within the WISEid User Guide has been published. New for the 2024-25 school year, users can now refine the results of the WISEid Person Search with an Advanced Search. You can only reach the Advanced Search tool by conducting a standard Person Search first.

The Match Review section of the WISEID User Guide has also been updated. Only records uploaded without a WISEid in a person file upload are put through a match review process. The match review process is done to try and find an existing, matching WISEid. The match review process has been refined for the 2024-25 school year to reduce the amount of scrolling and clicking, allowing you to see results much more clearly and quickly.

The WISEid Files and Templates webpage has also been updated for the 2024-25 school year.

WISEstaff: Data Collection Reporting Information Webpage Updated for 2024-25 SY

The WISEstaff Data Collection webpage is now fully updated for the 2024-25 school year, with the following items, located in the Technical Documentation section:

The WISEstaff Files and Templates webpage has also been updated for the 2024-25 school year.

WISEadmin Portal: District Library Plan Email Notification

Email notifications will now be sent to the District Security Administrator (DSA) who submitted the plan, as well as to the Library Media Specialist, when it has been approved and returned to the LEA. Previously these emails were only sent to the Library Media Specialist.

Updating Agency Contacts Mini Tutorial: Updated

The Updating Agency Contacts mini tutorial webpage has been updated to provide a link for the School Directory management Portal, as this is another WISE application that requires annual updates for LEA contacts.

Warning 6574: Short Text Updated

The KBA for Warning 6574 now displays updated short text: Exit Type ETC (Expected transfer/promotion to a new school covered by WISEdata. Not known to be continuing.) is invalid for student now known to be continuing in a private school as a non-Choice student or in home schooling.

Error 6508: Short Text Updated

The KBA for Error 6508 now displays updated short text: Exit Type ETC (Expected transfer/promotion to a new school covered by WISEdata. Not known to be continuing.) submitted, but required field is missing, 'Expected Transfer School'.
