Ed-Fi Updates

Ed-Fi: New Claim Set for HR/Finance Vendors

New claim sets were created for LEAs who use either or both a Human Resources staff information system (HR SIS) or a finance staff information system (F SIS) vendor tool to submit staff data to DPI. The claim set allows data from such vendor tools to create WISEids and to send staff records to WISEdata and other WISEsecure application via the Ed-Fi API.

WISEdash for Districts

WISEdash for Districts: Updates to Assessment Data

As Forward recently went through a standards setting, we needed to temporarily disable the “benchmarks” graphic in the STAR area for the latest year’s data as this is based on old Forward standards. DPI is working with Renaissance to update these standards, and we will, again, provide this graphic once the standards have been updated.

WISEdash for Districts: New ACCESS Dashboard

WISEdash for Districts now has a new dashboard called, “ACCESS Current and Former EL.” This dashboard displays the list of all enrolled current and former EL students. When Users drill into this dashboard, they see the year and test scores of the most recent ACCESS test. This dashboard will be very helpful to LEAs resolving validation errors for ACCESS scores and corresponding ELP codes. This WISEdash feature was a request from the WISEdash Advisory Group, made up of key users from our school districts.

WISEdash for Districts: Bug Fix

A bug fix was done in two of the data quality indicators (DQI’s) in the Year End Completion Snapshot Dashboard. The bug was causing two of the DQI’s to display errors when the dashboard was displaying by School Type or School. This has been fixed.

WISEdash Public Portal

WISEdash Public Portal: Homeless Data

We have disabled the graphs displaying homelessness data within the Enrollment Topic area dashboards. For information on where to view homelessness data on WISEdash public portal, please visit the Homeless Data Files: About the Data webpage.

WISEadmin Portal and Other WISE Applications

WISEadmin Portal Release Notes

WISEadmin Portal: Updating Text for Immunization Data Sharing Agreement

The Department of Health Services (DHS) is a partner agency with DPI for the Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR) immunization registry integration. DHS and DPI are able to provide an API integration solution to retrieve the student immunization records from the Department of Health Services (DHS) and pass it back to the LEA’s student information system (SIS).

Only local education agencies whose student information system (SIS) vendor tools have completed the WIR integration certification may be set up in WIR.

The text within WISEadmin Portal pertaining to the WIR setup process will explain this requirement more clearly. This will alleviate unnecessary processing times on DHS and on LEAs who are attempting WIR integration with a SIS tool that is not compatible.

WISEadmin Portal: WIR data and Choice Schools

Choice schools that Opt-in to the All Students Report Card can access this tool through the WISEadmin Portal.

Choice schools that Opt-out to the All Students Report Card cannot opt in to the WIR tool. Likewise, a private school that was a Choice school in previous school years, but that changes its status to no longer be a Choice private school, can also no longer have access to the WIR integration.

Private schools that are no longer Choice schools will not have the ability to opt-in to the WIR tool via WISEadmin Portal. Private schools that are not/no longer Choice schools would not need access to WISEadmin Portal because they have different reporting expectations to DPI. These schools only need to provide information via the PI-1207, Private School Report.

For details on Choice schools’ data reporting visit the Choice Schools: Yearly Data Reporting Resources webpage.
