HSED and GED® Transcripts and Credentials

Request a HSED and GED® Transcripts or Diploma Copy

This service is for individuals who have earned their High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED®) in Wisconsin. 

If you have earned a regular high school diploma including GED® Option #2, you must contact the school district for copies of diplomas and transcripts.

Credential (Transcripts and Diplomas) Request Cost

The cost for the first copy of a credential (diploma and or transcript) is $15.

If currently incarcerated, there is a reduced price of $5 per first copy of credential.

All additional copies of credentials are $2 after the first copy.

Notice: DPI does not accept personal checks.

Your signature (transcripts cannot be released without a signed request) Include a money order for the total amount of your fees. There is a $15.00 fee for each document (credential or transcript) you request. If additional copies of these documents are requested in the same order, they will be issued at a charge of $2.00 each.

  • Do not send cash payment in the mail.
  • Your order will be processed in the sequence received and will take approximately 6-8 weeks to complete.

All information provided will remain strictly confidential through both request options. Your order will be processed in the sequence received. Mailed orders are sent via regular 1st class mail which cannot be tracked. 

The Department is NOT responsible for items lost by the Post Office, errors made in the request, and refusal to use the secure electronic transfer of documents. It is the responsibility of the requestor to provide up-to-date and accurate information.
