Autism Society of Wisconsin (ASW)

The Autism Society of Wisconsin is dedicated to improving the lives of all who are impacted by autism by providing information, resources, and support, while raising awareness and acceptance in the community. They do this by increasing public awareness about the day-to-day issues faced by people on the autism spectrum, advocating for appropriate services for individuals across the lifespan, and providing the latest information regarding treatment, education, research, and advocacy.

Autism United of Wisconsin

Autism United of Wisconsin is the new, exciting evolution of the Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin. Citing a desire to expand services to all of the state’s 72 counties, Autism United of Wisconsin exists to create better lives and brighter futures for all impacted by Autism — children, teens, adults, parents, families, educators and caregivers. Same outstanding services, with new and exciting services and supports. Autism Speaks

Autism Speaks has a selection of resources, toolkits, and directories sorted by age and audience. They also provide videos ranging from descriptions of autism to examples of various common interventions. The Autism Speaks 100 Day Kit helps families of children ages four and under make the best possible use of the 100 days following the diagnosis.

Community of Practice on Autism Spectrum Disorders and other Developmental Disabilities (CoP ASD/DD) YouTube Channel

Led by a steering team which includes parents, researchers, physicians, self advocates, and many others, the CoP ASD/DD gathers stakeholders from throughout Wisconsin three times a year to discuss a variety of autism related topics, as well as posts local, regional, and statewide information on their web site.

The CoP ASD/DD also provides recorded presentations on a variety of subjects including Anxiety, Mental Wellness and Keeping an Even Keel, Supporting Challenging Behavior, and more.

Additional Family Support and Advocacy Organizations

Information and links to a variety of statewide family support and advocacy organizations that support all students who receive special education through an IEP including the Wisconsin Statewide Parent Educator Initiative (WSPEI), Wisconsin Family Assistance Center of Education, Training & Support (WI FACETS), Disability Rights Wisconsin, Board for People with Developmental Disabilities (BPDD), and the Arc of Wisconsin.
