The Regional Special Education Network

The Regional Special Education Network, formerly known as the Regional Service Network, was first funded in 1984, "... to assist education agencies to improve services and programs on behalf of exceptional children. The Regional Service Network concept [was] based upon a commitment to improving both the quality and equality of exceptional education programming by providing school staff, parents, students and decision makers with meaningful information and leadership services.”

The Regional Special Education Network (RSN) continues to support Wisconsin local educational agencies (LEAs) in advancing educational equity, academic progress, and the social/emotional competency of students with disabilities by providing coordinated technical assistance to promote continuous systems improvement, foster collaboration and develop educational leadership capacity. The purpose of the RSN aligns with Wisconsin's Framework for Multi-Level Systems of Supports, which “…means providing services, practices, and resources for each and every learner based upon responsiveness to effective instruction and intervention.” Services provided by the RSN, are free of charge regardless of CESA membership.

State Performance Plan (SPP) Indicators

The RSN primarily supports the Wisconsin State Performance Plan Indicator 3C. The grant project also supports the following Wisconsin State Performance Plan Indicators: 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 11, 14, 15, and 17.
