Funding Opportunities for Spring 2025

The Student Services/Prevention and Wellness Team provides for resourceful funding opportunities. Listed below are grants currently available. For specific information on grant timeline, eligibility, contacts, and other requirements, please visit each grant webpage below.
Student Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse (AODA) Mini-Grants
The Department of Public Instruction is pleased to announce the 2025-26 Student Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse (AODA) Mini Grant Competition. All K-12 student groups in public schools are eligible to apply. The grant supports education, prevention, and intervention programs designed by students, targeting AODA and other youth risk behaviors that include commercial tobacco use, vaping, violence, bullying, suicide, and alcohol traffic safety. Funding priority will be given to projects that involve youth in planning and implementation and those that have lasting educational value beyond the funding cycle. Each student group may receive up to $1,000. Districts or schools may submit multiple applications.
Applications are due to DPI by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

Aid for School Mental Health Programs
Eligible school districts, Private School Choice Program Schools, and independent charter schools may receive partial reimbursement for salary and fringe benefits paid to employ, hire, or retain social workers or the costs to contract for the services of a social worker when the eligible entity increased in its expenditures in the prior school year compared to the immediately preceding school year.
